SOLCON Irrigation Pump Panel

Solcon Irrigation Pump Panel Spec.

All over rural america irrigation is the life blood of a productive farm.  At peak times irrigation, collectively, is the largest load for power producers like Nebraska Public Power District. For Electric Co-ops and Power Districts, the irrigation pump is one of the largest load on their system and for some the largest revenue stream collectively. These co-ops face many challenges including long distribution lines, challenging weather and an aging infrastructure. Meanwhile the average farmer is striving for greater and greater yields, pushed a relentless thirst for water and the power to deliver it. At the center of this tug-of-war is the irrigation pump panel.

The common irrigation pump panel couples the distribution network and the pump motor with an across the line starter or often called a 'hard start'. A hard start is appropriately named for the stress seen on the distribution network, the pump motor and the pipes that make up the irrigation pivot

Solcon Irrigation Pump Panels offers co-ops and farms the opportunity to grow in harmony. With a Solcon Pump Panel installed less stress is felt by the distribution network, the pump motor and the irrigation pivot. This offers a win-win for both.

For co-ops, a soft start offers increased stability and in some cases the same infrastructure can support more pumps offering an opportunity for more revenue, with no harmonics.

For the Farmer, a Solcon Pump Panels means longer life for the motor and less water hammer on the pivot, and includes the added benefit of motor protection like 'Loss of Phase'.
